The Studio in the Press
Print Design Annual, 2003

Published in 2004 these works seemed focused around our letterpress printing. The four pieces highlighted here are all rpinted in the studio and also represent two of the three most important collaborations of the studio thus far, one with Educator and Typographer Ed Fella and the other with Publisher and designer of Sherbert Magazine Dan Weise.

Rocky Mountain News

Dear friend and client Phil Silberman is captured in this piece, show off his invention the 'poetrycard' and we are proud to be mentioned in the piece. Phil came to Rick almost 5 years to the date with a crude prototype looking for some ideas about how this quirky word game might make itself into a piece of ephemera. feel free to visit poetrycardsusa.com

Denver Post
7/14/2003

Ok so this is a little odd, but I couldn't resist. Our bathroom at the house is the main feature of this Denver Post Article, but to give us credit, it is biographical, and you know what they say... There's no such thing as bad press.

Print Design Annual, 2002

Almost entirely self promotional work made it into the 2003 edition of PRINT, but as I'm sure you're aware there was hardly any real business to be had in 2002, but we kept ourselves busy. And made good work too.

One-Color Graphics
Rockport Publishers, Chen Design Associates 2002

Some new, some old and clearly some blue works made it into Chen's book for Rockport on one color graphics, it can take you back to the times of desparate low budget work, ouch. Farrell Lowe was a great collaborator and client and Mike Ross from the Miller theatre in NY was behind a number of great works of this time.

Denver Business Journal
10/2002

MATTER was a partnership with Jason Otero, and Patrick Sweeny was a reporter for the Business Journal for Denver, the article ironically focused on the non commercial works which were well recognized, Patrick had a great sense of humor, he died. Jason still does but has since moved on to do another thing.

Print Design Annual, 2001

Music, Posters, corporate works, packaging the works a great year all round and some great works made it into the magazine, what can we say... those were the days.

Touch: The Power of Tactile Graphics
Rockport Publishers 2001

Here's where the studio shows off a sense of humor with 'Branded Objects' recognized by Rockport as being both interesting and somehow relevent to design culture. Go figure.
